About the Employer

I'm looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to help me with day-to-day tasks and support with my family home life. Due to my physical diagnoses I struggle with mobility and can only walk very short distances with crutches, otherwise I use a mobility scooter. I have a lot of widespread pain which I take strong medication for, and have numbness and loss of feeling in my left leg below my knee - this also contributes to my mobility issues. I am vulnerable and therefore very cautious of the risks of Covid-19. You will therefore be expected to wear a good quality mask at all times and be aware that windows and doors in the house will remain open during your shifts.

Other relevant information:

• The individual keeps pets in the home: 1 dog - large friendly rottweiler.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Helping to de-clutter and organise the house.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Lateral Flow Test Requirement:

Due to the nature of the work you’re applying for, you may be required to take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) and upload the results online every day before you start work.

Transport Requirement:

Car driver preferred but not essential.

Required Skills:

• Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
• Be patient, supportive and caring.
• Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
• Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the employers needs on a daily basis.

Required Training:

Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.

• Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.

When you are Required:

Hours per week: 2 PA's at 9 hours each per week

• Monday, 11.00am - 3.00pm
• Tuesday, 11.00am - 3.00pm
• Wednesday, 11.00am - 3.00pm
• Thursday, 11.00am - 3.00pm
• Friday, 11.00am - 3.00pm

Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
